What it is
A Website Strategy Workshop is a working session to scope your website before any design or build starts.
Most websites that underperform weren’t built badly — they were scoped badly. The goals were vague, the audience wasn’t defined, and nobody agreed on what the site actually needed to do before someone started choosing fonts.
This session fixes that before it becomes a problem.
What we cover
We start with the basics: who this site is for, what they need to find, and what action you want them to take. From there we work through site structure — what pages you need, what each one does, and what content has to exist before a build can start.
By the end of the session you have a scope document: a clear brief for your website that any designer or developer can work from. If you proceed with me, it becomes the foundation for the build.
When this is the right call
Book this if you’re about to start a website project and you want the thinking done properly before any money is spent on design or development.
It’s also the right call if you’ve had a website built before and it didn’t do what you hoped — this is usually a scoping problem, and doing it properly this time makes a real difference.
Questions, answered.
- What's the output?
- A written scope document — the purpose of your site, who it's for, what pages you need, and what each one has to do. Something you can hand to a designer or developer and get a real quote from.
- Do I need to have content ready?
- No. Part of the session is working out what content you need. If you have existing material, bring it — it helps. If not, we'll map out what needs to be created.
- Does this lead into a website build?
- It can. If you take the scope document elsewhere, that's fine too.
- How is this different from a free discovery call?
- A discovery call is 30–45 minutes to work out if we're a fit. This is a proper working session — we get into the detail, make decisions, and produce a document you can act on.
- Remote or in-person?
- Both work. Adelaide-based clients often prefer in-person. Remote sessions run on Google Meet or Zoom.
